Sow 'Banana' sweet pepper seeds indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, in a light, well-drained potting mix. Use a heating mat to maintain an ideal germination temperature of 68 to 75°F (20 to 24°C). When the seedlings develop two pairs of true leaves, transplant them into individual pots.
Transplant seedlings to the garden after the last frost, when night temperatures are above 54°F (12°C). Plant in full sun, 12 inches apart in rows 24 inches apart. Water regularly to maintain even moisture and fertilize once a month with a high-potassium fertilizer to encourage abundant blooms and generous fruit production.
Harvest peppers when they reach their full size and optimum colour, whether bright yellow for a milder flavour or red for a more intense taste. The sweet 'Banana' pepper is a great option for gardeners looking to enrich their garden with a sweet, versatile and easy-to-grow variety.
