The striking blanched stalks can be harvested individually for a continuous supply of succulent salad celery, or fully mature plants can produce a beautiful semi-blanched rose-gold core. This OSSI variety was bred by Frank Morton.
Companion plants: Tomato, spinach, onion, bean, sage, thyme, cabbage, basil, tansy.
Away from: Potato, parsley, carrot, parsnip.
Seeding: Start seedlings indoors 10-12 weeks. before planting. Transplanting is strongly recommended. It can be transplanted 2-3 weeks. before the date of the last frost. Can bolt if the °T is below 12°C during the day and 4°C at night.
Harvest: Harvest while the curds are still tight. Tie the leaves together to achieve a bleached effect. The stem will lighten the color and the flavor will be milder. Cool immediately after harvest.
Storage: Store at 1-2°C at 95% humidity for up to 2 weeks.
