The foliage of this delicious cabbage combines the broad, curly shape of the leaves of the ‘Siberian’ selection with the color of those of the ‘Red Russian’. The bold flavor of the leaves is suitable for salads, especially relatively young leaves from mature plants. Because of their very sweet taste and their pretty color, the purple stems set to seed from plants that have overwintered in the garden are very popular in salads or briefly sautéed in oil.
