Golden Zizia (Zizia aurea) , seeds by Marie-Victorin
Golden zizia (Zizia aurea) is a bright, elegant perennial distinguished by its early bloom and umbels of small, bright yellow flowers. Attracting a wide variety of beneficial insects, it plays a key role for pollinators in the spring when few other plants are in bloom. With its finely cut foliage, it creates a delicate contrast to more robustly textured wetland plants such as sedges and irises.
