Cultivation method:

Sow seeds 8-10 weeks before transplanting outdoors in spring. Use shallow trays filled with fine potting soil and sprinkle the seeds on the surface (you can mix the seeds with sand to make this easier). Gently press the seeds into the soil without covering them. Maintain a temperature of 70°F (21°C) and water from below or lightly mist the surface to prevent the seeds from drying out. Seeds germinate in 21-28 days. Harden off young plants for 10-14 days in a protected area before transplanting.

Outdoor planting:

You can sow directly into the open ground in spring after frost or in late summer, 8-10 weeks before the first frost. Sow on a well-prepared surface, without covering the seeds, but press them firmly into the soil. Ensure good moisture to encourage germination. A packet of 450 seeds covers about 1 m², while a packet of 5000 seeds can cover up to 10 m².

Wild thyme 'Pourpre' is an ideal solution to bring colour and fragrance to your garden while requiring little maintenance. Resilient and versatile, it fits perfectly into any landscape design.
