Organic 'Parade' bunching onion (Allium fistulosum) – offered by Seed Company WH Perron

The organic 'Parade' bunching onion is an exceptional variety, ideal for gardeners looking for an easy and productive crop. With its long white shaft that does not form a bulb and its greenish-blue foliage, this onion is perfect for salads and fresh dishes. Its rapid germination and high yield make it an excellent choice for a continuous harvest throughout the season.

Spread : 10 to 15 cm
Plant height : 30 to 45 cm
Quantity per packet : 150 seeds
Companion plants : Carrot, tomato, celery, beetroot
Enemy plants : Beans, peas, kohlrabi

Cultivation method:

Sow organic 'Parade' onion seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, or start them indoors before the last frost for an early start. Sow 1cm deep in rich, well-drained soil. Space rows 15cm apart and thin plants to 5cm to encourage the growth of long, thick boles.

To prolong the harvest, sow every two weeks until July. Keep the soil moist but well drained and fertilize at the beginning of the crop and when the boles appear to optimize the yield. Weed regularly to avoid competition from weeds.

Harvest onions when they reach their desired size. Thinned plants can be used immediately in salads or garnishes. This organic onion is perfect for gardeners looking for a robust and flavorful variety to add to their vegetable garden.
