Gourgane 'Express' (Primo) – proposed by Semences WH Perron

The 'Express' (Primo) broad bean is an early variety, renowned for its medium-sized, flat white beans, perfect for freezing. With a rapid maturation in 65 days from sowing, it is ideal for early season crops. Sown from late April or early May in cool soil, this broad bean thrives in cool temperatures, ensuring quality harvests before the great summer heat.

Plant height : 60-80 cm
Spread : 20-30 cm
Quantity per pack : 20 seeds
Companion plants : Artichoke, eggplant, Swiss chard, borage, carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, pumpkin, squash, strawberry, corn, tomato
Enemy plants : Garlic, beetroot, chives, shallot, fennel, onion, parsley, leek, potato

Cultivation method:

Sow directly in the garden as soon as the soil is workable, usually in late April or early May, at a depth of 2 to 3 inches. Space seeds 6 inches apart in the row, with 18 inches between rows to allow good air circulation. 'Express' fava bean prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade.

Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, especially during germination and the first few weeks of growth. Plants reach maturity in early summer, providing tender, tasty beans to harvest as needed.

Easy to grow, robust and productive, the 'Express' broad bean is ideal for gardeners looking for a quick and abundant harvest, perfect for enriching your summer meals or for storing in the freezer.
