Cultivation method:
Start seedlings indoors between mid-February and late March in a soilless growing mix. Sow seeds 1/4" (6 mm) deep and maintain a temperature of 70°F (21°C) for optimal germination. Once the seedlings have germinated, grow them on in bright light and temperatures of 60-70°F (16-21°C) to produce strong seedlings.
After hardening off, transplant plants outdoors in late May to early June in well-drained soil in full sun. Space plants 12" (30 cm) apart in rows 24" (60 cm) apart. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, as they promote leaf growth at the expense of fruit. Staking is recommended to support plants under the weight of fruit. Harvest at different stages of maturity to experience a range of flavors.
