Cultivation method:
Sow seeds directly outdoors in June, 6mm (1/4") deep in rows 60cm (24") apart. Once the plants have emerged, thin them to 20cm (8") to allow the heads to develop properly.
To promote more tender leaves and reduce bitterness, bundle the inner leaves by tying the larger outer leaves to the center about 7 to 10 days before harvest. Make sure the outer leaves are dry to avoid any mold problems. Maintain regular watering to ensure uniform growth.
