Cultivation method:

Start seeds indoors in February in a soilless medium, then transplant outdoors in spring. Alternatively, sow directly outdoors from mid-April, 8-15mm (1/4-1/2") deep and 15mm (1/2") apart in rows 30cm (12") apart. Once the plants have emerged, thin them to 5cm (3") for cooking onions and 7.5cm (3") for larger onions.

For best results, grow onions in fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny location. If flower stalks begin to appear, bend them back to redirect the plant's energy toward bulb growth.

A delicious and elegant onion!

With its mild flavor, beautiful red color, and versatility in the kitchen, the 'Rossa di Toscana Tonda' onion is a must-have for any gardener looking for a tasty and aesthetically pleasing heirloom variety.
