Cultivation method:
Pumpkin 'Golden Mammoth' prefers full sun and rich, deep, well-drained soil. Before sowing, work a generous amount of compost into the soil to encourage vigorous growth. Sow directly outdoors in late May to early June, placing 4 to 6 seeds per hill at a depth of 2.5 cm (1″). Space hills 2.4 m (8′) apart. Once seedlings have emerged, thin to 3 plants per hill.
For spectacular fruit, limit each plant to two pumpkins, removing the other fruit. Water regularly and evenly throughout the season. In late summer, protect the fruit from the first frosts to ensure a quality harvest.
