Oregano (Origanum vulgare), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds

Oregano is a perennial herb that is a staple of Mediterranean and Mexican cuisine, known for its strongly aromatic leaves. Great in sauces, with meat and tomato dishes, it is an easy-to-grow plant that grows to about 2 feet (60 cm) tall. Hardy to zone 5 with winter protection, this herb is prolific and low-maintenance.

Days to maturity : 80 to 90 days
Height : 11 to 13 inches
Spacing : 12 to 14 inches
Sowing : Indoor or direct sowing
Exposure : Full sun, partially shaded
Quantity per pack : Untreated, non-GMO seeds

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds outdoors from mid-May to late June, or start them indoors before transplanting after the last frost. Oregano can also be grown indoors on a sunny windowsill or under lights in winter.

Outdoors, oregano thrives in warm, sunny gardens. Water only as needed, as this plant is undemanding. Fertilize lightly with an all-purpose fertilizer to avoid altering the production of the essential oils responsible for its aroma and flavor. Harvest the leaves and flower clusters to enjoy their intense flavor.

An essential and easy to grow herb!

Oregano is a must-have herb for any herb garden. With its rich flavors and easy care, it’s perfect for spicing up your dishes and beautifying your outdoor space.
