Cultivation method:
For best harvest, start indoors in February or early March. Sow seeds in a soilless medium at a depth of 1/4" (7 mm) and maintain a temperature of 68°F (20°C) to encourage germination. When seedlings are about 8" (20 cm), transplant outdoors in spring.
Space plants 10-15cm (4-6") apart in rows 30-45cm (12-18") apart. For direct sowing, sow seeds in the ground from April to June. Maintain fertile, well-drained soil and water regularly to support growth. For longer white stems, hill up soil around the stems as they develop.
