- Seeding Depth: 12 to 16 inches
- Seed spacing: 2 to 3 inches
- Row spacing: 8 to 12 inches
- Technique: Once the seeds are sown, cover them with 12 to 16 inches of soil and allow them to grow naturally for 2 years without disturbing them .
- Harvest: between July and September of the following seasons, as soon as the shoots appear. The bulbs reach their optimum size after 2 to 3 years of growth .

💡 Recipe: Italian-style sautéed lampascioni 🍽️ Ingredients (for 4 people)
- 500 g of Lampascioni 🧅
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 🫒
- 1 crushed garlic clove 🧄
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar 🍷
- ½ tsp salt 🧂
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper ⚫
- 1 tsp dried oregano 🌿 (or rosemary)
Preparation :
1️⃣ Plunge the Lampascioni into a pan of boiling water 💦 and cook for 10 minutes to reduce their bitterness. Drain them.
2️⃣ In a frying pan, heat the olive oil 🫒 and add the garlic 🧄. Brown for 2 minutes .
3️⃣ Add the Lampascioni and brown them over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes .
4️⃣ Sprinkle with red wine vinegar 🍷, add salt 🧂, pepper ⚫ and oregano 🌿. Mix well.
5️⃣ Serve hot as a side dish or cold as an antipasto with crunchy bread 🥖 and a glass of Italian wine 🍷!
