Sow Bird of Paradise seeds in light, well-drained, slightly moist potting soil. Maintain a constant temperature of around 73°F (23°C) for optimal germination, which can take 35 to 42 days. Place the pot in a bright, draft-free spot. Indoors, this plant appreciates abundant light and even tolerates direct sunlight.
Once the plant is well established, repot it in spring in a larger container if necessary. To encourage flowering, expose it to a cool winter temperature (around 10 °C). Water moderately, allowing the substrate to dry out between waterings to avoid excess humidity. During the summer, mist the foliage regularly to maintain sufficient humidity levels.
Maintenance and advice:
Bird of Paradise adapts well to both indoor and outdoor growing. If you grow it outdoors, place it under a shelter to protect its leaves from burns caused by prolonged exposure to intense sunlight. Indoors, make sure that the ambient air is not too dry by misting its leaves daily or passing them under a light shower.
A timeless tropical beauty:
The Bird of Paradise is a plant that attracts all eyes thanks to its bright flowers and exotic look. Whether to beautify your interior or create a tropical corner on your terrace, this perennial plant is an excellent choice to add elegance and exoticism to your living spaces.
