Description

Rudbeckia 'Prairie Glow' (Rudbeckia triloba), offered by the seed company WH Perron

The 'Prairie Glow' coneflower is an exceptional short-lived perennial that will brighten up your garden with a profusion of small, bi-coloured yellow and orange flowers, adorned with a dark eye. Its flowers, measuring 2.5 cm in diameter, bring a bright and natural touch to flowerbeds. Although ephemeral, this coneflower reseeds easily, ensuring its presence for many years. Pinching young plants early in the season will encourage the lateral branches to produce more flowers.

Latin name : Rudbeckia triloba

Spread : 30-60 cm
Quantity per pack : Approximately 40 seeds
Maturity : Perennial
Zone : 3

Growing Tips:

Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost or directly into the ground when all risk of frost has passed. Maintain a temperature of 15-18°C for rapid germination in 10-14 days. When sowing, lightly cover the seeds with potting soil as they require some light to germinate.

'Prairie Glow' coneflower prefers well-drained, moderately rich soil and full sun. It also tolerates poorer soils, making it easy to care for. Water regularly to encourage abundant blooms, but allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent disease.

A long-lasting and vibrant perennial!

With its warm colors and abundance of flowers, 'Prairie Glow' is perfect for natural gardens and country bouquets. Although it is short-lived, its ability to re-seed ensures a new show every year. Ideal for adding movement and life to your flower beds in late summer and early fall. Grow this variety for a vibrant garden, year after year!
