Cultivation method:
Sow directly into the open ground in spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours before sowing to speed up germination. Sow 2-3cm deep, spacing the seeds 15cm apart. Place the seedlings in a sunny spot with rich, well-drained, slightly chalky soil.
Climbing sweet peas require support, such as a trellis or wire mesh, to thrive. Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, especially during the flowering season. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued production of new blooms.
