Description

Asparagus Seeds 'Guelph Millenium F1' ( Asparagus officinalis ) – offered by WH Perron

Developed by the University of Guelph in Ontario, 'Guelph Millenium F1' asparagus is an exceptional variety, producing 100% uniform male spears. Adapted to northern regions thanks to its high hardiness, it offers impressive yields year after year, making it an ideal choice for both amateur and professional gardeners.

Quantity per packet : Approx. 20 seeds
Maturity : Perennial
Formulation : Untreated
Companion plants : Ground cherry, parsley, rocket, sage, tomato
Enemy plants : Swiss chard, beetroot, onion

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds indoors or directly in the ground after all risk of frost, in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. For cold regions, prefer full sun exposure to promote optimal growth. Leave 30 to 45 cm between each plant in the row and space the rows 90 to 120 cm apart.

This perennial variety requires loose, deep soil for good root development. Avoid planting near enemies such as onions, as they can reduce the vigor of asparagus. Combine them with companion plants such as sage or tomatoes for better synergy in the vegetable garden.

Harvest the shoots when they are the ideal size for a tender texture and delicate flavor. Allow a few shoots to develop to strengthen the plants and ensure a bountiful harvest the following year.

Add 'Guelph Millenium F1' asparagus to your garden for a long-lasting, tasty harvest that's ideal for northern climates and perennial crop enthusiasts.
