Sow seeds indoors about 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost date. Maintain a temperature of 72 to 80°F (22 to 26°C) for optimum germination in 7 to 14 days. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when they are 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm).
Once the risk of frost has passed, transplant the plants into the ground or containers. Space each plant 50 cm apart for good aeration. Choose a location in full sun with well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Water regularly, without wetting the foliage to avoid disease, and fertilize every 2-3 weeks to stimulate production. The fruits ripen quickly and should be harvested when fully ripe to enjoy their sweet taste and juicy texture.
