Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost. Maintain a temperature of 72 to 80°F (22 to 26°C) to encourage germination in 7 to 14 days. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when they are 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm).
Once the risk of frost has passed, transplant the plants outdoors, in pots or in the ground, in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Space the plants 50 cm apart to promote good air circulation. Ensure a location in full sun to maximize fruit production.
Water regularly to maintain slightly moist soil, avoiding wetting foliage to prevent disease. Fertilize every 2 to 3 weeks to stimulate growth and production. Harvest fruits as soon as they reach their beautiful bright orange color for optimal flavor.
