Cultivation method:
Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost date, at a constant temperature of 72 to 80°F (22 to 26°C). Germination usually occurs in 7 to 14 days. Once seedlings reach 2 inches (5 cm), transplant them into individual pots.
When all risk of frost has passed, transplant the plants into the ground or into a container, in rich, well-drained soil amended with compost. Allow 50 to 60 cm between each plant and install stakes or cages to support their indeterminate shape.
Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but avoid wetting the foliage to reduce the risk of disease. Harvest the fruits when they are a beautiful deep red hue with dark chocolate undertones to enjoy their optimal flavor.
