Description

Bellflower 'Rapido Blue F1' (Campanula carpatica) – Offered by Semences WH Perron

The 'Rapido Blue F1' bellflower is an exceptional perennial hybrid variety, known for its large blue flowers that appear in the first year of cultivation. It is an advantageous replacement for the 'Clips Blue' variety thanks to its earlier flowering of 3 to 4 weeks, its better uniformity and its larger flowers. Ideal for embellishing flowerbeds, this campanula resists harsh winters well and offers abundant flowering in early summer.

Zone: 3
Maturity: Perennial
Plant height: 13 to 18 cm
Spread: 13 to 20 cm
Quantity per pack: Approx. 50 coated seeds
Soil: Well drained
Companion plants: Heucheras, perennial geraniums, lavenders

Cultivation method:

Sow the coated seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost date. Use a well-drained potting soil and maintain a temperature of 65 to 72°F (18 to 22°C) to promote rapid germination in 7 to 9 days. Transplant the seedlings into rich, well-drained soil outdoors, once all risk of frost has passed.

Place the bellflower in full sun or partial shade for optimal flowering. Water moderately, avoiding overwatering, and add a thin layer of mulch to preserve soil moisture.

With its bright blooms and robustness, the 'Rapido Blue F1' campanula is perfect for adding a touch of freshness and colour to your outdoor spaces. Its ease of cultivation makes it an ideal choice for both beginners and experienced gardeners.
