Cultivation method:
Sow directly into the open ground as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Plant seeds 1/8 inch (3 mm) deep in rows 18 inches (45 cm) apart. Maintain consistent moisture throughout the growing season to ensure well-formed rosettes. When seedlings are 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall, thin them to leave 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) between plants.
Harvest by cutting the leaves about 1 inch (2.5 cm) above the base, being careful not to damage the crown. This will allow new shoots to develop, extending the harvest.
