Cultivation method:
Sow directly into the ground as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, to a depth of 3 mm (1/8") and in rows spaced 45 cm (18") apart. To prolong the harvest, repeat sowing every two weeks. Lettuce prefers a soil rich in organic matter, well-drained, and a constant supply of water for optimal growth.
Harvest head lettuces by cutting the head at the base, just below the outer leaves. For leafy varieties, cut about 2.5 cm (1") above the base to encourage new growth. 'Canasta' tolerates hot temperatures well, making it an excellent choice for extended summer growing.
A lettuce that is both tasty and robust!
With its unique beauty and high heat tolerance, 'Canasta' is a must-have for any gardener looking for a lettuce that is both beautiful and tasty. Perfect for vegetable gardens and beginner gardeners alike.
