Cultivation method:

For indoor sowing, start in pots in direct sunlight rather than on a windowsill to prevent the soil from drying out quickly. Scatter the seeds over the surface of the soil without pressing them in and cover with a thin layer of sieved potting soil. Mist the soil regularly until germination, then water from below to avoid disturbing the young seedlings.

To sow directly, wait until the risk of frost has passed, usually mid to late May. Sow seeds in a sunny site with average, well-drained soil. Thin plants to 14 to 18 inches (35 to 45 cm) apart to encourage growth.
