Cultivation method:

For direct sowing, wait until mid to late May, after all danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds directly in a sunny site with average soil, 1/8 inch (3 mm) deep and about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart. When seedlings begin to grow, thin them to 12 inches (30 cm) apart.

For indoor sowing, start seeds 4 to 6 weeks before the last expected frost date. Use a soilless medium and maintain a temperature of 20°C (70°F) for optimal germination, which usually occurs in 7 to 10 days. Once the seedlings have germinated, continue growing them at a slightly lower temperature before hardening them off and transplanting them outdoors.

Borage adapts well to average soil and prefers full sun exposures. It is easy to maintain and can self-seed to return year after year if given time to produce seeds.

A versatile and aesthetic plant!

Borage is an ideal herb for gardeners looking to attract pollinators while growing a plant for culinary and ornamental use. With its vibrant flowers and aromatic leaves, it enriches both your garden and your kitchen. Hardy and easy to grow, it makes a great addition to any outdoor space, bringing beauty and biodiversity.
