Cultivation method
Sow seeds directly outdoors in late May in a sunny location with good air circulation. Protect seedlings from rabbits. When seedlings are 3 inches tall, thin them out or transplant them to 2 feet apart. For earlier flowering, start seedlings indoors in mid-April in a soilless mix.
Leave the seeds on the surface of the growing medium and maintain a temperature of 21°C. After germination (10-15 days), place the seedlings under light at 15°C before hardening them off and transplanting them outdoors after all risk of frost.
Bring a touch of warmth and liveliness to your borders and beds with Tithonia 'Mexican Torch', a gardener favourite for its vibrancy and ease of care.
