Cultivation method

Sweet corn 'Tuxana' is grown in full sun , in rich, deep, well-drained soil, amended with compost or rotted manure. Sow directly in the open ground after the last frost , when the soil is at least 18°C , in groups of 3 to 4 seeds every 25 to 30 cm , in rows spaced 70 cm apart. To ensure good pollination , plant corn in blocks of several rows rather than in a single line. Regular watering is essential, especially during flowering and ear filling. Harvest begins when the silks turn brown and the kernels release a milky juice under pressure .
