The 'Waltham Butternut' squash is a classic and much-loved variety for its dense, sweet and velvety orange flesh , perfect for soups, purées, roasts and gratins . It produces elongated pear -shaped fruits, weighing 1 to 2 kg , with a smooth beige skin that is easy to peel . Very hardy and has a long shelf life , it can be kept for several months after harvest, ideal for winter meals.

✅ Harvest when the skin becomes hard and uniform beige , before the first frosts. Leave to dry for a few days in the sun to prolong the conservation.
