Cultivation method

The 'French Breakfast' radish is easily grown in full sun or partial shade , in light, well-drained soil rich in organic matter . It can be sown directly in the ground from early spring to late summer for a continuous harvest. Sow the seeds at a depth of about 1 cm , spacing the rows 15 cm apart. Once the young shoots have emerged, thin them to 2-3 cm apart to allow them to develop well. The radish requires regular watering , without excess, to prevent it from becoming too prickly or fibrous. It reaches maturity in just 25 to 30 days , allowing for rapid and successive harvests throughout the season.

Use and benefits

The 'French Breakfast' radish is perfect for eating plain, sliced into a salad or served with a knob of butter and a pinch of salt . It can also be lightly sautéed for a milder taste or marinated in pickles to extend its shelf life. Rich in vitamin C, fibre and antioxidants , it is an excellent ally for a balanced and light diet. Its tops are also edible , delicious in pesto or soup.

With its rapid growth and refined flavor , the 'French Breakfast' radish is a must-have in the vegetable garden, as easy to grow as it is to enjoy.
