The 'Black Kabouli' chickpea is an exceptional heirloom variety originating from Kabul, Afghanistan , producing unique black seeds with rich, deep flavors.

Cultivation method
Chickpea 'Black Kabouli' prefers a light, well-drained, slightly sandy soil , with full sun for optimal development. It is sown directly in the open ground in spring , once the soil has reached 15°C , as it does not tolerate frost. Space the seeds 10 to 15 cm apart, in rows 30 to 40 cm apart, then water lightly at the start of growth. Once well established, chickpeas are very drought-resistant and require little maintenance. Their cultivation is similar to that of lentils and dry peas. Harvest is done in late summer , when the pods turn brown and dry on the plant. Simply harvest them and extract the grains to store them all winter.
