'Evergreen' bunching onions are a hardy, perennial variety , producing slender, green stalks that are deliciously flavoured and extremely tender . Unlike regular onions, they do not form bulbs and are grown for their crisp, juicy stalks , ideal for a long harvest. Their vigorous growth and high disease resistance make them ideal for vegetable gardens, container gardens and even greenhouses . As well as being delicious fresh, they are excellent for storing and can be frozen or pickled for use all year round.

Cultivation method
'Evergreen' bunching onions are grown in full sun , in light, well-drained soil rich in organic matter . Sow directly in the ground from April to July , in rows spaced 20 cm apart, then thin the young plants to 5 cm to give them the space they need to develop. Regular watering is recommended to obtain juicy and tender stems, but be careful not to soak the soil. Harvesting begins approximately 60 to 80 days after sowing , between August and October , when the stems reach 15 cm in height . These green onions can be picked gradually, ensuring a continuous harvest throughout the season.
