Cultivation method
Mixed lettuces grow in full sun to partial shade in light, well-drained soil rich in compost . Sow directly into the ground as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, then continue sowing every 2-3 weeks for a continuous harvest. Sow 0.5cm deep , in rows 20-25cm apart, then thin out young plants to 15cm to allow good growth. Regular watering is essential to keep the leaves tender and prevent bolting. Harvest leaves as they appear , cutting back at the base to encourage new growth.
