Calendula 'Erfurter' (Calendula officinalis) – Offered by Ferme Tourne-Sol

Calendula 'Erfurter' is a variety selected for its bright orange double flowers , rich in resin with medicinal properties . Easy to grow, it flowers abundantly from spring until frost , attracting pollinators and brightening up the garden. In addition to being an ornamental plant , its petals are edible and used in infusion, balm or tincture for their soothing properties.

Recipe idea: Calendula soothing balm

• 1 cup dried calendula flowers 'Erfurter'
• ½ cup sweet almond or olive oil
• 2 tbsp grated beeswax

  1. Infuse the flowers in the oil in a bain-marie for 2 hours over low heat.
  2. Strain the oil and add the beeswax, stirring until melted.
  3. Pour into a jar and let cool before using.
