For a continuous harvest, sow small amounts of seed every 2 to 3 weeks from early spring to late summer. Prepare your soil by raking it to remove stones and clods. Dig shallow trenches about 1 cm (½ in.) deep, sow the seeds thinly 2.5 cm (1 in.) apart, and cover lightly with soil. Water thoroughly after sowing. Space rows 15 cm (6 in.) apart for good aeration.

For summer sowing, choose a location with light shade to reduce the risk of bolting. Radishes also grow well in pots, spacing seeds 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart. Thin seedlings promptly to allow plenty of space between plants to allow roots to develop fully.

Water generously once a week for radishes in the ground, or daily for those in pots, especially in dry weather, to maintain succulent roots and prevent bolting. To prevent flea beetle attacks, grow under a horticultural fleece.

Harvest radishes as soon as they reach the size of marbles, gently pulling them up by their leaves. Don't let the roots mature too long, as they can become woody. Enjoy them as a snack or add a colorful, crunchy touch to salads.
