The 'Jalapeno (Hot)' pepper is a must-have for fans of hot flavors. Producing moderately spicy fruits, this versatile pepper is ideal for salsas, marinades, and even Chile's famous rellenos. Fruits average 3.5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide, turning from dark green to red when ripe. Compact plants, reaching 2 feet tall, ensure abundant production.

Plant height: 50 to 70 cm
Quantity per pack: Approximately 25 seeds (160 seeds/gram)
Scoville scale: 6,000 SHU
Companion plants: Tomatoes, carrots, basil
Enemy plants: Beets, fennel

Cultivation method:

Sow indoors between mid-February and late March, using a soilless mix. Bury the seeds 6mm deep and maintain a temperature of 21°C for optimum germination in 10-20 days. Transplant the hardened-off plants into the ground in late May to early June, in a sunny location with well-drained soil. Space the plants 30cm apart and leave 60cm between rows. Water regularly and use a stake if necessary. Harvest green fruits for a sweeter flavour or red for a more intense heat.
