Cultivation method:

Sow seeds indoors about 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Use a peat moss-based mix for quick germination at 70-75°F (10-14 days). When seedlings are 1.5 inches (4 cm), transplant into individual pots and lower the temperature to 60-65°F (15-18°C). Once hardened off, transplant into open ground in late May, spacing 2 feet (60 cm) apart for determinate varieties.
Water regularly at the base and apply mulch to conserve moisture and reduce disease. Rotate crops to maintain soil health and do not compost diseased plants.
