Open-pollinated dill, from the seed company Hortinova, is an elegant and versatile annual aromatic plant. Highly fragrant, this variety also attracts beneficial insects, contributing to the ecological balance of the garden. Natural, untreated and GMO-free seeds guarantee environmentally friendly cultivation.

Spread: 20 to 30 cm
Plant height: 60 to 90 cm
Companion plants: Cucumber, cabbage, carrot
Enemy plants: Fennel (risk of hybridization)
Latin name: Anethum graveolens

With its slightly aniseed and lemony taste, dill is ideal for flavoring salads, fish, soups and marinades. Its abundant and aromatic seeds are also used to enhance vinegars, jams and other dishes.

To grow dill, sow directly outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Sow seeds 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) deep in rows 12 inches (30 cm) apart. This plant prefers dry, light, well-drained soils and a sunny exposure. Germination usually occurs in 7 to 14 days. If growing in pots, choose a container that is deep enough to allow for good root development.

Water sparingly, avoiding overwatering, and allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. For a continuous harvest of fresh leaves, pinch the stems regularly to encourage branching. Let a few plants go to seed to harvest and enjoy their intense fragrance or re-sow them for a perpetual crop.

Hortinova's easy-to-grow and versatile dill is perfect for enriching your kitchen and attracting pollinators to your garden or balcony.
