Charming Flower Balls
Gomphrena ' Color Mix' seeds (Gomphrena globosa), offered by the seed company OSC.
This dwarf annual produces small, spherical, clover-shaped flowers, perfect for brightening up rockeries and borders. The flowers in white, pink, red and fuchsia hues last a long time in the garden and retain their charm when dried. Ideal for everlasting flower arrangements, this plant also attracts butterflies. Robust and adapted to warm climates and poor soils, it reaches an average height of 15 to 30 cm. For dried flowers, harvest the stems at the beginning of flowering for a better result.

How to grow:
Sow seeds directly outdoors in May in a sunny spot, lightly covering the seed with soil. Soaking seeds for 24 hours before planting may improve germination. Space seedlings 18 inches apart. For earlier flowering, start seedlings indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Use a soilless mix and maintain a temperature of 70°F until germination (10-14 days). Then place under lights at a temperature of 60-65°F. Transplant outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.
An ideal choice for colorful gardens and elegant dried bouquets.
