Maintain a temperature of 68°F (20°C) for germination in 14-21 days. After germination, place seedlings in bright light at a temperature of 60°F (15°C) before hardening off and transplanting to a sunny location.
Direct sowing can also be done in May or between mid-August and early September for flowering the following year. Space plants 30 cm apart and ensure good air circulation to prevent mildew. Water only in case of drought and preferably in the morning to allow the foliage to dry.
