Cherry Tomato 'Yellow Plum' is an indeterminate heirloom variety , renowned for its excellent productivity and deliciously sweet taste. Its small, bright yellow oblong fruits , measuring about 2 cm (1") , grow in tight clusters on vigorous plants. Ideal for fresh eating, salads, snacks and preserves , this variety is also appreciated for its hardiness and ease of cultivation.

Spread: indeterminate habit, vigorous growth
Plant height: 150 to 200 cm
Quantity per pack: ± 20 seeds
Companion plants: basil, parsley, carrot, asparagus, alliums, celery, borage, marigold, calendula, mint, sage, peppers, dill (until maturity)
Enemy plants: potato, corn, kohlrabi, beetroot, fennel, peas, squash

Cultivation method

Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting out, then transplant to open ground after the last frost , when night temperatures are above 12°C . Plant 3-6 mm (1/8-1/4") deep , spacing plants 60-90 cm (24-36") apart and rows 120-180 cm (4-6') . Staking is necessary , as this variety develops dense foliage and abundant clusters of small fruits.

Harvesting and storage

Harvest tomatoes when they reach a bright yellow colour and are slightly soft to the touch. Alternatively, pick them when they start to change colour and leave them to ripen off the vine at 22°C

Store tomatoes at room temperature , in a well-ventilated area and out of direct sunlight. Avoid placing them in the refrigerator, as this alters their texture and taste. If you want to extend their shelf life, place them in a cool place (12-21°C) with a relative humidity of 95% . Arrange them stem side down , without them touching, to slow down their ripening and prevent them from spoiling too quickly.

Long-term preservation methods

Freezing: whole or cut in half, perfect for sauces and soups
Drying: Sliced and dehydrated for tasty snacks or toppings
Preserves: marinated in olive oil with herbs, made into a sweet sauce or tomato jam

With its sweet flesh, vibrant color and abundant production , the 'Yellow Plum' cherry tomato is perfect for a productive vegetable garden and tasty harvests all summer long.
