Did you know?

The 'Escamillo' pepper was developed as a complement to the famous 'Carmen' red pepper. Together, they offer a vibrant palette of colours in the vegetable garden and a synchronised ripening , ideal for varied and delicious harvests.

Cultivation method

Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting out , maintaining a temperature of 27-31°C for optimum germination. Harden off seedlings before transplanting to the ground when night temperatures are above 12°C. Plant 1 cm (1/2") deep , spacing 30-45 cm (12-18") between plants and 45-60 cm (18-24") between rows .

Harvesting and storage

Harvest the first fruits as soon as they reach their optimum size , even if they are not yet fully browned, to encourage continued production . Peppers mature fully on the plant and develop their sweet flavour over time.

Store them in a cool, humid place (10-12°C, 95% relative humidity) to prolong their freshness. They can also be frozen or dried for long-term storage.

With its sweet taste, productivity and vibrant color, the 'Escamillo' Pepper is an excellent choice for a gourmet and colorful vegetable garden!
