Plant height: 115-130 cm
Quantity per pack: ± 50 seeds
Companion plants: Beans, carrot, corn, cucumber, eggplant, peppers, radish, spinach, tomato, turnip, mint

Cultivation method

Soak seeds in warm water for 8 hours before sowing to improve germination. Do not oversoak as this will impair emergence. Direct sowing is recommended as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Late summer sowing is also possible for a fall harvest , although hot, dry conditions are not ideal for growing peas.

  • Sowing depth: 2.5 cm
  • Spacing between plants: 10-15 cm
  • Row spacing: 30-45 cm
  • Optimum germination temperature: 15°C
  • Germination time: 7 to 21 days
  • Cold tolerance: Up to -9.5°C
  • Days to maturity: 60-70 days
  • Exposure: Sun to partial shade
  • Watering: Regular, without excess

Harvesting and conservation

Harvest when the peas begin to form in the pod , continuing to pick until they are fully elongated , about 3 inches (7 cm) long . Snow peas are at their best when picked at half their size , or one week after flowering .

  • Storage: Keep cool between 1 and 2°C , up to one week after harvest.
