Cultivation method
Direct sowing is recommended as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 8 hours to speed germination, but do not exceed this time. Sow 2.5 cm (1") deep , spacing plants 15 cm (6") apart and rows 30-45 cm (12-18") apart . For a fall harvest , sow in late summer . Avoid hot, dry periods , which are not conducive to good pea development.
Harvesting and storage
Harvest when peas begin to form in the pod, about a week after flowering , for optimum flavour . Continue to pick regularly to encourage production . Peas will keep for about a week in the refrigerator at 1-2°C .
