Spread: Climbing and vigorous habit
Plant height: 150 to 180 cm
Quantity per pack: ± 100 seeds
Companion plants: Beans, carrot, corn, cucumber, eggplant, peppers, radish, spinach, tomato, turnip, mint

Cultivation method

Direct sowing is recommended as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Soak seeds in warm water for 8 hours before sowing to encourage germination , but do not exceed this time. Sow 2.5 cm (1") deep , spacing plants 15 cm (6") apart and rows 30-45 cm (12-18") apart . Install a trellis or support to allow climbing vines to fully develop. For a fall harvest , sow in late summer .

Harvesting and storage

Harvest immature pods , while they are still flat , before the seeds begin to develop. Pick every two days to prevent the pods from becoming too thick and fibrous. Store them at 1-2°C , where they will keep for about a week .

  • Combine it with companion vegetables to improve biodiversity and soil health.
  • Add it fresh to salads for a crunchy and colorful touch.
  • Sautéed in a pan with garlic and ginger , it reveals all its sweetness.
