Cultivation method
Strawflowers are hardy and easy to grow plants. They adapt well to light, well-drained soils , with full sun exposure to maximize flowering.
Direct sowing in open ground is done after the last frosts, when the soil is sufficiently warmed. For an earlier start, it is possible to sow indoors 4 to 6 weeks before planting outdoors .
The seeds need light to germinate , so do not cover them with soil . It is advisable to press them lightly against a moist substrate and water gently using a spray bottle or by irrigation from below to avoid disturbing their germination.
Harvesting and conservation
Flowers begin to bloom about 90 to 110 days after sowing . Harvest should be done when 3 to 4 layers of petals have opened , before the central heart is fully exposed.
To dry flowers , hang them upside down in a dry, dark, well-ventilated place . Once dried, they will retain their natural vibrancy for years, perfect for timeless floral arrangements.
With its ease of growing, generous flowering and long-lasting beauty , Apricot-Peach Strawflower Mix is an ideal choice for gardeners looking to combine aesthetics and utility in their garden.
