Cultivation method

Before sowing, it is recommended to soak the seeds in warm water for up to 12 hours to promote rapid and uniform germination. Sow indoors 6 weeks before transplanting , taking care to handle the delicate roots carefully when transplanting.

Okra 'Clemson' grows best in light, rich, well-drained soil in full sun . Plants should be spaced 18 to 24 inches apart to ensure good air circulation and prevent disease. Although drought tolerant, it produces more when watered regularly, especially during the flowering and fruiting seasons .

Harvesting and conservation

To stimulate production, it is advisable to harvest the pods every 2 to 3 days , when they reach about 7 to 8 cm long . The younger they are harvested, the more tender and tasty they remain.

Fresh pods will keep for up to 10 days in a perforated plastic bag or container at 7-10°C . They can also be dried, pickled or frozen for later use.

With its vigorous growth , versatile pods and edible flowers , 'Clemson' okra is a must-have choice for gardeners curious about exotic and authentic flavors!
