Description

Organic 'Flanders' Poppy ( Papaver somniferum ) – offered by Gaia, a symbol of memory and natural beauty

The 'Flanders' poppy , also known as the Remembrance poppy , is an annual heirloom variety with iconic bright red petals . Its name pays homage to John McCrae's famous poem In Flanders Fields , where these flowers symbolise the memory of fallen soldiers.

Easy to grow and drought resistant , this poppy self-sows without becoming invasive. It is perfect for flower meadows, wild gardens and naturalized borders . Not appreciated by deer , it is also an excellent choice for regions where these animals are present.
