The 'Spacemaster 80' cucumber is a compact and productive heirloom variety , specially bred for small gardens, pots and hanging baskets . Its short 75cm vines produce long, dark green cucumbers , reaching 18-20cm , while taking up very little space .

Cultivation method
To improve germination, soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours and scarify lightly before sowing.
Seeds can be started indoors 3-4 weeks before planting out , or directly in the open ground after the last frosts . Spacemaster 80 cucumber prefers a temperature of 21°C and a rich, well-drained soil .
Space plants 30 to 60 cm apart and rows 60 to 90 cm apart. Although bushy, it can be trained to further optimise space and improve air circulation .
Harvesting and conservation
Cucumbers should be harvested every 1 to 2 days , before they become overripe, to encourage continued production .
They can be stored for up to 10 days in the refrigerator , at 10-12°C with 95% humidity .
