Cultivation method
Sowing can be done indoors in early spring for early flowering, or directly in the open ground after the last frosts .
Sow at a depth of 3 mm , spacing the plants 30 to 45 cm apart to allow them to flourish well. Cosmos prefers a light, well-drained soil , as well as exposure to full sun . Too much nitrogen promotes foliage to the detriment of flowers.
Harvest and maintenance
To prolong flowering, regularly remove faded flowers . It is also possible to carry out successive sowings every 3 weeks to spread the flowering period until the first cold weather.
Flowering stems can be cut for fresh or dried bouquets , where they retain their color well.
